In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, we want to assure you that we are taking extra precautions at Noah’s Ark Preschool.  We are implementing the local & state requirements.  Since we are a state licensed facility many of these are procedures we already have in place, but there will be a few changes.  Our staff has been trained on these new protocols.  All staff members have taken the required health & safety training related to COVID-19.  In general, Noah’s Ark Preschool is a small school community.  We are keeping our group sizes even lower right now.  Children will be in stable groups with consistent caregivers. The extra precautions we have implemented are listed below.  The bolded items are areas where we need parents help.

School wide, we will be continuing the heightened hygiene and disinfecting processes that we began just before Spring Break including additional hand washing and wiping down frequently touched surfaces throughout the day. This also includes grab bars, handles and railings on the playground.  Being a state licensed facility, there have always been high hygiene standards in place, but this is even more. The children’s bathrooms will be disinfected three times per school day. We have removed all cloth toys, baby doll clothes, etc.  We are not using water tables or items such as shared playdoh.  All toys are sanitized frequently.  We will not move toys from one class to another without proper sanitizing.

Staff and students will be screened for health.  Nobody with a fever, symptoms, exposure to COVID-19 will be admitted. Parents will monitor the health of their child and not send them if they may be ill.  Students and staff will stay home for 14 days if they have been in close contact with an individual with COVID-19 or traveled internationally.  The drop-off and pick-up will be done outside at the carport where we will take each child’s temperature with touchless thermometers, have them use hand sanitizer and sign them in.  We will be sanitizing the sign-in pen after each use or parents can bring their own pen.  Children will be escorted to their classroom by Noah’s Ark staff members.  Everyone will wash hands upon arrival to class.  Staff will wear masks when in close proximity to another person, comforting or attending to individual children’s needs.  An extra change of clothes will need to be packed for all students and multiple sets for children 2 years old and younger. We must be able to change their clothes, as needed.

Classroom management will be done with social distancing in mind (allowing more space between students in line, at table, at circle time, etc.).  As we all know it’s not exactly feasible to have 6’ social distancing for a group of preschoolers, but we will be encouraging and planning for more space between children. We cannot expect preschool children not to engage in interactive play and share toys. We do ask parents to avoid sending toys and items from home. All of our toys are sanitized and removed immediately, if mouthed.  Comfort items such as pacifiers, loveys, etc. can be sent in a backpack or tote bag for use only when needed.

Our classes meet Tuesdays through Fridays from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm

We offer an Early Drop Off option for all ages beginning at 8:00 am.

Noah’s Ark is closed the following dates:

November 24-27: Thanksgiving

December 18-Jan 1: Christmas Break

February 16: Spring Teacher In-service

March 16-19: Spring Break

April 2: Easter Holiday
